How to pay Income Tax




Logging into efile
The person needs to log into efile in order to pay income tax dues.

A person can log into the efile by using the same credentials that are used for iris. After logging in, the person can access the e-Payments tab.

e-Payments

On the e-Payments tab, one will access the Payment Pay and select the annual income return option.
The resulting selection will lead you to the Evenue Pay Income page. On this page a payment receipt (PSID) will be created by:
  • Selecting the relevant Tax Year
  • Typing the Tax amount due
  • Selecting the mode of payment
  • Clicking the create button on the bottom of the page
Confirm payment made by e. This will effectively build your e-Payment receipt. The e-Payment slip can be deposited at any branch of the National Bank (NBP) / State Bank (SBP). Select the nearest city where you want to apply for the payment slip from the dropdown list.
Click the print button to download the PSID to your computer. Install the PSID at any branch of your city you like.
Computerized Payment Receipt (CPR)
Computerized Payment Receipt (CPR) is generated after tax. This is reflected in the iris within 24 hours of the payment deposited.
Tax payable must be made on or before the designated income tax expiration date for each person.

Payment of Income Tax through Alternate Delivery Channels (ADC)

Penalty for late payment

Failure to pay the tax payable on the due date will attract the penalty or automatic payment or both. Failure to pay your taxes is a fine that could be punishable by a fine or imprisonment for a period not exceeding one year or both.

Surcharge Payment – ATL

The last filers of the Income Tax Return for Tax Year 2019 can pay the “surcharge for the ATL” as defined under Section 182 (a) of the Income Tax Ordinance 2001 by clicking on the Tax Payment Nature “Miss” head in the PSID.
Only after the payment of surcharge will the name of the late filer become part of ATL.
